Lots of new material led to a desire to visit a studio in Buckingham again. Andy was touring with Exit Stance when the third demo was scheduled so Ian, Ian, Peter and new boy Ian – yes we have three now – decided to use a drum box for the session. Being drummer-less forced us to play differently and it led to some new sounds. Tracks included a cover of These Boots Are Made For Waliking, Collapsing Claire, Briefly Sunstruck, Crawlin’ and Lonesome Young One.
Once Andy was freed up we hit the studio again for our fourth visit. This time we managed to capture the sound we had been exploring at The Point. Session 4 included Big L, Holbein, I’m Blank and Passions For Pamela.
The session produced much of the material to be used on the next demo : ‘Futures Looking Brighter’, a compilation of what we thought to be the more successful recordings from recent sessions. This tape was duplicated and sent around to see if it could attract any attention. One copy was sent to John Peel in the hope of getting commissioned to record a session for his nightly radio programme.
