Trying to launch a band that actively seeks to be unpopular is tricky. By its very nature, a band is a business and that tends to steer most bands into one conforming. We were aware of the contradiction that we were living. At some point we thought it was a good idea to massage the contradiction itself into the story of the band.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Promoting yourself depends on something to promote. A good example is a gig. But we didn’t get many because to getting a gig may lead to popularity \u2013 so we didn’t really try to hard. It was a complex tightrope to walk! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
At some point, during a rehearsal at The Point, we conceived of the idea to invent a tour. It would give us something to talk about and promote but without the tedium of actually having to do it. The tour would happen in Berlin, at some time in the near future. The highlight of this hype occurred on a chance appearance with Graham Dee on his MK Radio show recorded at Peartree Bridge. He invited the band on the play a few tunes and chat about the local music scene. You can hear some of the radio interview below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
